IGA is located close to the hockey field-follow the tram tracks to the St Kilda tram station. It is very convenient for junior parents to pick up supplies during training and for  seniors who want to  replenish the fridge with snacks and a special drink as a reward after training.

Powerhouse 4th on the ladder, went down to Moorabbin to play the second top team in SL2, Southern. We started off the game with black arm bands and a minute silence dedicated to Lizzie Watkins who died last weekend in WA while playing hockey.  We went out on the pitch knowing this game wasn’t going to be easy. We had all the play in the first 5 minutes with a few near misses and then we conceded the first goal off Southern short corner. We then responded quickly with a goal scored by Tilly and Southern scored again off another short corner. It wasn’t long until we got a break away scoring an amazing goal from Liz. Another goal from Liz and the score was PHSK 3 - 2 up at half time. with many missed opportunities to score. With a slow start to the second half we finally scored another goal to Liz-  another Hatrick!  The game finished with a very exciting score of 4-2. We worked very well together as a team which resulted in such a good game. Go House!

Great start by new players Fraser and Hurley.

Faster and more furious in attack. Kept up the pace.We scored 4 goals-HAA!! Yelled Nick. What was that all about?

Matty Mallinson was a forward star. Christophe and Luke the balanced at the back.

Round 4 already, saw us facing the CV Blazers in the lovely (not!) Melbourne weather…
We had the majority of possession in the first half, and a lot of attack, including multiple penalty corners.

It didn’t take long for Tilly to slot in our first goal, once again, followed by a great little fist pump… Yeah Tilly!!! Our second goal followed closely behind, which was nicely executed by Kate, who had a 1 on 1 with the goalie… Dragged nicely to the right and flicked in behind. We unfortunately had many missed opportunities on the posts (something to work on next week) but we soon got cracking! The forwards did a great job making leads and opening up huge gaps for the defence to smash the ball through. A ball straight through the guts to Lizzy at the top of the circle, saw her take on a couple of players, making it look easy, and smashed it in the net once again…. We were on a roll.  Another great goal from Delanty taking us to 4-0, was closely followed by a run up the left from Dutchy, who slipped it to Tilly, and across to Liz, and a quick ball to Kate, who popped it in the net, finishing up the first half 5-0, but it wasn’t over yet….

We had a bit of a slow start to the second half. We carried on working hard, although not as hard as we should of, aye Jim! And then another great goal from Lizzy, (HAT-TRICK) who made it look easy, smashed it in from one of our many corners. Another one of the many great plays up the left, gave Tilly the ball in the top corner, who saw Shags in the perfect position on top of the circle, and then a quick (very unselfish) pass across to Kate, saw her also getting a HAT-TRICK. Yeehaa!

All the girls had a great game, playing really well as a team, finishing up 7-0, and with 3 more points on the board.
Game on next week against Southern!!
